At Northern Soul Healing, your wellbeing continues long after your treatment ends. Healing is a process — and the hours and days that follow a session are just as important as the time you spend on the table.
Possible Reactions After a Session

Everyone responds differently to healing treatments, and reactions can vary depending on what your body and energy system are releasing. These experiences are temporary and usually pass within 24–48 hours. You may notice:

​🌿​Feeling tired, lethargic, or unusually energised
🌿​Emotional release (crying, laughing, or feeling more sensitive)
🌿​Mild headache or light-headedness
🌿​Nausea or mild stomach discomfort as the body detoxifies
🌿​Increased urination or bowel movements
🌿​Cold-like symptoms as your immune and lymphatic systems clear out toxins
🌿​Spots or skin breakouts, especially after Indian Head Massage, as impurities leave the body
🌿​Muscle tenderness from massage
🌿​Heightened appetite or “the munchies” — your body may crave nourishment after energetic shifts

These are all natural signs that your body is releasing, rebalancing, and healing. Rest, hydration, and self-care will help these sensations pass more quickly.

Hydrate well
​after energy work, massage or crystal healing, your body releases stored tension and toxins.

🌿​Herbal teas and warm water with lemon are also lovely options.
🌿​Avoid excess caffeine and alcohol if possible, as they can dehydrate or disrupt your body’s natural balance.

Stay Grounded and Nourished
​After energy work, it’s important to reconnect with your body.

🌿​Eat wholesome, grounding foods such as root vegetables, grains, and soups.
🌿​If you feel light or “floaty,” gently bring your focus to your breath or your feet on the floor.
🌿​Spending time outdoors can also help stabilise your energy.

​Healing unfolds gradually over the following days.

🌿​You may find new insights, emotions, or patterns surfacing — trust what comes up.

Aftercare for massage
​If you’ve had a massage, it’s natural to feel relaxed, light, or even slightly sore as your muscles release built-up tension.

🌿​Continue to hydrate well to flush out toxins.
🌿​A warm bath with Epsom salts can ease any lingering tightness.
🌿​Avoid heavy lifting or intense exercise for the rest of the day.
🌿​Rest if you feel sleepy — your body heals best in deep relaxation.

Aftercare for Reiki and Crystal Healing
​After Reiki or crystal healing, your energy field continues to shift and align.

🌿​You may notice warmth, tingling, or waves of calm.
🌿​Some people feel energised; others feel deeply peaceful or emotional — all are signs of healing.
🌿​Avoid overstimulation such as loud music, screens, or crowded spaces for a few hours after your session.
🌿​Spend time in nature, hold a grounding crystal (like smoky quartz or hematite), or simply breathe deeply to stay centred.
🌿​Sleep may feel deeper, and dreams may be more vivid — this is part of your system releasing and integrating.
